The Experiences

Piedmont is a cultural and natural paradise in the north of Italy. It holds in its name the reference to the conformation of the region, located at the foot of the mountains. The italian word is Piemonte: “pie” stands for foot and “monte” for mountain. The name of the region perfectly describes its position at the foot of the Alps, which surround plains and hills on three sides.

Piedmont is Italy's gastronomic capital for many reasons. First of all, the Slow Food movement has started here, at a small town called Bra, which is an 30 minutes drive away from Alba. This international movement has dedicated itself to the preservation of local food cultures.

THE GOLD OF MONFERRATO

On the hunt for truffles and mushrooms

The Nebbiolo grape harvest often takes place in autumn, when mushrooms populate tables and menus and white truffles are in season. That’s why Alba is famous for its white truffle and great wines, as well as Nutella that was created here by Pietro Ferrero. White Truffle Market is an annual exhibition that has been held for decades, attracting truffle lovers from all around the world.

Every year, the largest white truffle discovered is exhibited here. Truffle hunters will show you how to find truffles walking through the woods, how to use them in the best way, giving all the secrets, and how to cook and enjoy them.

TURIN AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Regal elegance with a sweet soul..

Visiting Turin offers the perfect opportunity to discover the splendid royal residences that the Savoy family had built between the 17th and 18th centuries: a journey through time among the symbols of the dynasty's hegemony, from hunting castles to holiday resorts and the imposing residences declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Walking narrow streets of the city is an excellent way to explore the ”sweet side” of Turin: an endless number of bakeries, sweet shops and coffee bars border the cobblestone streets. Not far from the central train station are some of the best venues.

GOURMET HOLIDAY

The true flavor of Piedmont

Gastronomically, Piedmont is undoubtedly one of Italy’s most interesting regions. Its wines are superb and the delicious cooking ranges from simple trattorias to the Michelin starred. Beyond truffles and wines, Piedmont is well known for its excellent hazelnuts, specifically a regional variety named Nocciola Tonda Gentile, one of the finest variety of hazelnuts grown in Europe. It is used in pastry and for the production of Gianduia Chocolate.

With so many rolling hills, sloping vineyards and hazelnut woods we suggest many outdoor calorie-burning activities such as walks, run or bike rides that will blow you away.
